50 Cent is urging Mike Tyson to tone things down after the boxing icon gave a surprisingly grim interview during a chat with a young internet star.
Tyson sat down with 13-year-old Jazzy from JazzysWorldTV, but the conversation took an unexpectedly morbid turn when the former heavyweight champ was asked about the kind of legacy he wants to leave behind.
Instead of the usual motivational response, Tyson dismissed the concept of legacy altogether.
“I don’t believe in the word legacy, I just think that’s another word for ego,” Tyson remarked. “Legacy doesn’t mean nothing. I’m just passing through. I’ma die, and it’s gonna be over. Who cares about legacy after that? So I’m gonna die, and I want people to think I’m this, I’m great? No, we’re nothing, we’re just dead, we’re dust, we’re absolutely nothing. Our legacy is nothing.”
The unsettling response raised eyebrows online, including from none other than 50 Cent. The rapper and entrepreneur shared a clip of the interview on his Instagram, adding his own colorful commentary.
“Got damn it! Mike, ya scaring the kids, WTF chill,” 50 wrote. “Note to self, keep the kids away from Mike.”
While fans of both legends found humor in 50’s reaction, others were left pondering Tyson’s existential take on life and legacy.
