James described being able to design a PlayStation controller and console cover as “a pretty cool thing,” particularly because he was able to give a nod to his “I Promise” students.

The bottom right of the DualSense controller,  features the “I Promise” phrase which is a reference to the public school that James opened in his hometown of Akron, Ohio.

On the center of the console cover and on the controller also features the phrase “Nothing is Given. Everything is earned,” a quote also associated with James in his illustrious basketball career.
