The star-studded Red One cast also includes Kiernan Shipka, Lucy Liu, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, J.K. Simmons, Nick Kroll, and Kristofer Hivju. While Red One was filming from October 2022 to February 2023, multiple set photos surfaced online teasing J.K. Simmons’ bulked-up Santa Claus and the inclusion of Krampus.

By releasing in theaters on November 15, the Christmas-themed Red One is aiming to capitalize on the historically profitable pre-Thanksgiving period of the holiday season. However, Red One will face some significant competition during this time of the year from another holiday movie, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, and Robert De Niro’s mob movie, Alto Knights, both releasing on November 15.
