On TikTok
some fans looking for controversy were convinced Selena subtly responded to the news by commenting on an Instagram post that read: “Wish for the happiness of your enemies, for if they are happy, they are your enemy no more.” The timing of the post was curious because it was just hours after Justin announced the arrival of Jack.
Did Selena Gomez respond to Justin and Hailey’s baby news?
According to some corners of the internet, Selena commented on the post: “So true and it makes me so happy.” The thing is, we can’t find any evidence of this comment anywhere. Either TikTok made it up (which is quite possible considering people love to rehash Selena and Justin’s history), or Selena deleted it before news outlets could pick it up.
When Hailey and Justin announced she was pregnant in May, Selena’s response was to disable comments on her Instagram profile to avoid drama. “I disabled all my comments on my photos on Instagram for only my friends. So I think I’ve created boundaries to help me,” she explained to TODAY‘s Hoda Kotb.
“Obviously people fussed about it. They fuss about everything,” she continued. Despite the response from fans, Selena insisted that it was the right decision for herself. “I felt empowered by doing that, by saying, ‘This is just for me.’”
