Sean “Diddy” Combs was placed on suicide watch after being denied bail by a court.

According to TMZ , in court, Diddy pleaded not guilty after the 14-page indictment was announced. The judge denied the singer bail and approved the prosecutor’s request to continue detaining Diddy before trial.

The rap mogul is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York. The facility, which opened in 1994, is notorious for its violence, filthy living conditions, pollution, and high rates of inmate suicide. The singer has been placed on suicide watch in case he has suicidal thoughts while in prison.

However, Diddy’s lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, said the singer had no negative intentions. The monitoring order issued was actually a routine measure for new, high-profile prisoners. “Diddy is perfectly healthy, lucid, confident and focused on his defense,” Marc Agnifilo asserted.

At his last bail hearing, his attorney asked the court to transfer Diddy to the Essex County Jail in Newark, New Jersey. The request is under consideration by the court.
