50 Cent and his ex-girlfriend, model Daphne Joy, have had a public back-and-forth since producer Lil Rod named her in a lawsuit as a “sex worker” who accepted money from Sean “Diddy” Combs (which she denied), prompting 50 Cent to repeatedly take shots at her online, and for her to release a statement accusing him of rape and physical abuse (which he denied).

Key Facts
Producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones filed a lawsuit against Combs in February for allegedly making unwanted sexual contact with him and forcing him to hire prostitutes, and he named Joy in the suit as one of several women who accepted a monthly stipend to work as a sex worker for Combs.
Joy called the allegations “false and character assassination” in a statement posted to Instagram, and Combs’ lawyer Shawn Holley said Jones is “nothing more than a liar.”
50 Cent took shots at Joy, his ex-girlfriend, on X, tweeting: “I didn’t know you was a sex worker, 👀you little sex worker. LOL.”
He also posted a picture of Joy walking alongside Combs on Instagram, again calling her a “little sex worker” in the caption and accusing her of taking money from Combs (whom he has a decades-long beef with).
Joy responded to 50 Cent in an Instagram post, accusing him of only seeing their son 10 times over the two years Joy lived in New York, and of “raping me and physically abusing me.”
In a statement to the Los Angeles Times, 50 Cent denied Joy’s allegations, calling them “false and baseless” and suggested Joy made the allegations because 50 Cent is fighting for full custody of their son Sire, who is 11 years old.
50 Cent made a guest appearance at Nicki Minaj’s New York City show over the weekend, where he said: “She said I love you, I said I love you back… even if you’re a little sex worker,” which some interpreted to be further attacks on Joy.
How Else Has 50 Cent Been Involved In Combs’ Legal Drama?
The two rappers have spent the last two decades throwing jabs in a long-running rap beef, which has escalated in recent months as 50 Cent has frequently targeted Combs on social media following his numerous sexual assault lawsuits and the raids on his homes last week. Hours after federal Homeland Security Investigations agents raided Combs’ Los Angeles and Miami homes on March 25, 50 Cent weighed in on X, tweeting: “Now it’s not Diddy do it, it’s Diddy done 🤷🏽♂️they don’t come like that unless they got a case.” He has repeatedly mocked Combs on Instagram, in one post stating he would “pay top dollar” for video footage that Jones alleged Combs possesses of his party guests in his lawsuit. 50 Cent has previously stated he is producing a documentary about Combs’ sexual assault allegations, and he said proceeds will go to victims of sexual assault. The rappers have targeted one another since at least 2006, when 50 Cent released a diss track alleging that Combs knows who killed the Notorious B.I.G., who died in a drive-by shooting in 1997. 50 Cent has since accused Combs of exploiting the late rapper’s name for profit, and he alleged that Combs was involved with the 1996 killing of Tupac Shakur. 50 Cent has also insinuated that Combs is gay on numerous occasions, and the two sparred over their competing vodka brands in 2015.
Key Background
50 Cent and Joy reportedly dated between 2011 and 2012, and they split after the birth of their son. In 2013, 50 Cent pleaded not guilty to one count of domestic violence and four counts of vandalism after Joy alleged he kicked her and destroyed her property during an argument. He was sentenced to three years probation and 30 days of community service and was ordered to pay $7,100 in restitution and $2,390 in fines.
Tangent
Combs has been sued for alleged sexual assault numerous times since November, and he has denied all allegations made against him. Singer Casandra Ventura, known professionally as Cassie, sued Combs on Nov. 16, alleging he raped her in 2018 and physically abused her for years while they were in a relationship. They settled the lawsuit later that month for an undisclosed amount, though Combs’ lawyers maintained the settlement was “in no way an admission of wrongdoing.” Combs was sued two more times in November: Joie Dickerson-Neal alleged he drugged and sexually assaulted her in 1991 and filmed the incident, and in another lawsuit, an anonymous plaintiff alleged Combs and singer Aaron Hall raped her and her friend in 1990 or 1991. Jones filed a lawsuit against Combs in February, alleging Combs made unwanted sexual contact with him and forced him to engage in sexual acts with sex workers.
Surprising Fact
Jones’ lawsuit also named model Jade Ramey and rapper Yung Miami, one half of the rap duo City Girls, as two other “sex workers” that allegedly accepted stipends to work for Combs. Yung Miami seemingly denied Jones’ allegations on X, tweeting: “Y’all be going for ANYTHING.” After an X user asked Yung Miami about the allegations made in Jones’ lawsuit, the rapper responded saying they were “something the internet made up and yall ran with it.”
