Democratic Rep Al Green was removed from the Hose chamber dring President Trmp’s address to Congress on Tesday night
Hose Speaker Mike Johnson instrcted the Hose Sergeant at Arms to eject Green after he stood p and interjected as Trmp spoke to lawmakers
Green stood and shoted, “Yo have no mandate!” Repblicans, sitting on the other side of the room, drowned Green’s protests ot, chanting “SA! SA!”Johnson asked the room to sit down and stay qiet, bt Green refsed Johnson then instrcted the Sergeant at Arms to remove Green from the room for interrpting the speech and, as Green exited, Repblicans stood p again and cheered, shoting, “Get ot!”

Green, 77, is a representative from Texas’s Ninth Congressional District and has served in Congress since 2005 He has helped lead impeachment efforts against Trmp since 2017 and was one of the first members of Congress to propose articles of impeachment against Trmp dring his first administration, specifically in connection to Trmp’s firing of former FBI Director James Comey
In late Janary, Green annonced to the Hose his plans to introdce new articles of impeachment against Trmp over the war in Gaza”The movement to impeach the president has begn I rise to annonce that I will bring Articles of Impeachment against the president for dastardly deeds proposed and dastardly deeds done,” Green said “Ethnic cleansing in Gaza is not a joke, especially when it emanates from the president of the nited States, the most powerfl person in the world”
Before Congress, Green was a civil rights attorney and the president of the Hoston NAACP for nearly a decade

Green wasn’t the only Democratic lawmaker who shoted ot dring Trmp’s speech Many others interjected “Not tre!” or “Those are lies!” at the president California Rep Gil Cisneros reportedly shoted, “Talk abot the $400 million to Tesla!” as mltiple representatives held p protest signs that said “Msk steals”
