The celebrated festival has veered away from the traditional rock angle with a pop-dance feel to the 2025 headliners.
The organisers of Lollapalooza confirmed the headline acts for the 2025 edition on Monday and, Korn withstanding, there is little or nothing for the rock fraternity with the headline acts firmly representing the pop-dance genre.
Olivia Rodrigo, Tyler, the Creator, Sabrina Carpenter, A$AP Rocky and Aussie dance merchants Rufus du Sol are the headline acts who are set to perform at Grant Park in Chicago from July 31-August 3.

Korn keep the rock flag flying
2025 will be Korn’s first time playing the iconic festival since 1997 and despite the likes of Blink-182, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Green Day and Foo Fighters headlining the Chicago festival in recent years, there has been a shift away from traditional rock acts with pop acts dominating top billing at the iconic festival.
Foo Fighters
Time will tell if such a shift away from the traditional guitar based acts will pay off with the organisers very much taking a gamble and, one would imagine, hoping to attract a younger demographic to a festival where the creme-de-la-creme of rock royalty (Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Black Crowes, Metallica, L7, The Pixies) dominated top billing in the past.
