HGTV Star Jasmine Roth Says Moving to Utah Was ‘1000 Times’ Harder Than Expected

GTV star Jasmine Roth and her family always had a soft spot for Park City. The “Help! I Wrecked My House” star got married in Park City Mountain and spent every weekend possible in her vacation home in old town Park City.
“We call it our happy place,” Roth said of Park City in the Deseret News a in an exclusive interview. “And slowly but surely, we just started spending more and more time here, to the point where we were like, ‘Should we just move? Does it make sense? Can we really do this?’”
It was a big decision to make; the HGTV star had an entire life in California between her business and TV show and her growing family.
Following Her Joy to Park City
Ultimately, it did in fact make sense for Jasmine to leave Southern California for Utah with her family in tow – but that didn’t mean the move was easy. The “Help! I Wrecked My House” star shared that the transition was “1000 times harder” than she had anticipated it being.
It wasn’t necessarily the act of packing up her family and making the cross-country move but packing up her entire life; her company and TV show and tackling the challenge of designing a new home in Utah compounded. But what’s more: Jasmine was pregnant with her second child, her daughter, Darla, while making the big move.
“Still kind of just unreal how big of a move this was for us,” Jasmine shared. “Would it have been easier to move with a 6-month-old or a 1-year-old? I don’t know. I honestly don’t know. But … once I make a decision, I’m off to the races. There’s no pausing me. It’s been a lot, but we love it here.”
Their new home is custom remodeled, of course, “cut into the side of [Park City] mountain” in Old Town Park City, according to an August 2025 interview with HGTV. “We’re excited to lean into the community,” she said at the time.
Showing off the beauty of Utah
Jasmine didn’t just move her family to their “happy place” but also took her show across state lines as well. “Help! I Wrecked My House” just started its fifth season with its official Utah debut airing on September 24.
The premise remains the same – helping local families renovate their homes – but Jasmine hopes the new era will also help usher in an appreciation for the place she and her family have fallen in love with.
“We’re really trying to showcase Utah, show off the beauty here and just why we moved here,” she explained. “And I think that’ll be really clear by the time the season is over.”
