The latest footballer to receive his own documentary is current Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar Jr.
Streaming giant Netflix is currently filming and producing the documentary, which will give fans a closer look into the Brazilian’s life both on and off the pitch. So far Netflix and PSG have yet to comment on the nature of the filming, but according to the amount of cameras and scenes being film suggests that it will be a multi-part documentary series. According to multiple sources, multiple camera crews have been regularly present at the French club’s training grounds in Paris.
“All the big names on the market try to approach football and sports stars for series or documentaries. The next winners will be those who get Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi or Neymar,” an Amazon representative told Le Parisien back in September.
Neymar famously became the world’s most expensive footballer of all-time when he departed Barcelona to join PSG for a stunning €222 million EUR (approx. $246 million USD) deal back in 2017.
Netflix and PSG have yet to announce a release date for the forthcoming documentary, but keep it locked here for further details when they surface.
