Anyone who has an issue with Selena Gomez’s openness and honesty can respectfully fuck off.

Earlier this month, the star opened up about her inability to have children on her own due to various medical issues. “I haven’t ever said this,” she told Vanity Fair, “but I unfortunately can’t carry my own children.”

“I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby’s in jeopardy,” said Selena, who has lupus and uses medication for bipolar disorder that could prevent her from carrying a child to term. “That was something I had to grieve for a while.”

“It’s not necessarily the way I envisioned it,” she said of potentially having kids. “I thought it would happen the way it happens for everyone. [But] I’m in a much better place with that. I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me.”

Noting that she’s “dying” to be a mom, Selena confessed she’s “excited for what that journey will look like.” “But it’ll look a little different,” she added. “At the end of the day, I don’t care. It’ll be mine. It’ll be my baby.”

Online, Selena received much love and support from readers for the revelation — and unfortunately, some hate, too. But the “Wolves” singer isn’t letting it deter her from sharing her struggles if that means she could help someone else.

“I truly believe that there is power in being vulnerable,” she said in a video from the dinner. “That is not shameful.”

“So yeah, I shared that I can’t carry a child. Yeah, I shared I have bipolar. Fuck off! That’s what my life is,” Selena stated.

“I truly want to be an advocate for women, and that’s why I share,” she said. “That’s why I like to be honest because everybody’s going through something. I don’t have it all put together. I’m not…whatever. I’m me.”

“That’s all I can be. That is the facts. Screw anyone who tells you you’re a victim. You’re a survivor in my book,” she added.
You tell them, Selena.
