Selena Gomez received sweet support from her Hulu series co-star Martin Short on Sunday while taking the stage at the 2024 Emmy Awards in Los Angeles. 

The 32-year-old actress joined Martin, 74, and Steve Martin, 79, as the Only Murders In The Building co-stars presented the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

Emmy Awards co-hosts Eugene Levy, 77, and his son Dan Levy, 41, introduced the trio and Martin and Steve laughed together as Selena walked beside them.

Selena quickened her pace to keep up with them and told Martin, ‘I’m about to fall.’

‘I got you, baby,’ Martin said as he placed an arm protectively around her.

One viewer noticed the tender moment and shared a clip on X, formerly known as Twitter, and wrote: ‘I love that you can hear Martin Short say ‘I got you baby’ to Selena Gomez as they’re walking out on stage at the Emmys’.

‘I love this because she is open about her anxiety in these situations and he’s so kind,’ read a comment on the post.

Selena has been candid about her struggles with anxiety and depression and sought treatment at facilities in 2014, 2016 and 2018.

She reportedly suffered a ‘panic attack’ in 2019 before taking the stage at the 2019 American Music Awards, in what was her first live performance in two years.

Selena after making it to the stage on Sunday with Martin and Steve made a ‘childless cat ladies’ joke amid her best friend Taylor Swift’s drama with Donald Trump.

Martin started it by saying, ‘And Steve, let me just say what an honor it is for me to be working with someone who looks like he’s fallen and can’t get up.’

Steve retorted: ‘And let me say what an honor it is for me to be working with someone who looks like a former women’s tennis champion.’

Selena – who recently revealed she was unable to carry her own children due to health conditions – responded: ‘And let me say what an honor it is work with two guys who are this far away from being childless cat ladies.’
